The ecology, history, management, and control of fire, wind, insect infestation, deer browsing, and other disturbances in forests, including disturbance regimes of boreal, northern hardwood, and other major forest types of North America. The influence of disturbance on wildlife habitat, urban/wildland interfaces, forest management, and stand/landscape dynamics. One-day field trip.
