Gary Johnson is involved with all aspects of Urban and Community Forestry in Minnesota, but primarily with urban forest health issues and community education, working with communities, State and Federal agencies, Master Gardeners, Tree Care Advisors, tree care professionals and non-profit organizations.
Contact Gary for information about: urban forest health issues (diseases, insect pests, and stress disorders), construction damage to trees, the Tree Care Advisor volunteer program, landscape management, best planting practices, pruning trees and shrubs, and plant selection for the various ecoregions of Minnesota.

Mike Reichenbach is working with forestland owners, the wood products industry in the Northern third of the state to increase forest productivity and the viability of forest enterprises. Areas of interest and specialization include reforestation on nonstocked and under producing lands, the sustainable use and management of non-timber forest products and the development of forest based small business enterprises.

Eli helps private woodland owners in Minnesota understand their forests and make good forest stewardship decisions. In addition to offering workshops and other instructional sessions, Eli coordinates curriculum development for the Woodland Advisor Program. His work is focused on forest ecology and management, forest landowner cooperative organizations, forest certification, and general forestry issues for private woodland owners.

Patrick Weicherding is a Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) Regional Extension Educator with the University of Minnesota Extension Service working out of the Andover Regional Center. Patrick is a member of the team working on natural resources management and utilization in the area of urban and community resource management and protection. His current area of emphasis is tree care and maintenance practices for protecting community forestry resources. Related areas of interest include urban and community forestry planning and management. Patrick works closely with CNR faculty on applied research projects at the TRE nursery on the St. Paul Campus of the University of Minnesota.
