Natural Resources in Sustainable International Development

International perspectives on resource use in developing countries. Integration of natural resource issues with social, economic, and policy considerations. Overviews of agriculture, forestry, agroforestry, nontimber forest products, water resources, certification, and development issues. Latin American focus but also includes case studies from other developing regions of the world.

Class Time: 40% Lecture, 25% Discussion, 15% Student Presentation, 20% Guest Speakers.
Work Load: 50 pages reading per week, 3 exams, 1 presentations, 1 special projects.
Grade: 35% in-class presentation, 5% class participation. 60% exams
