photo of Charlie Blinn Charlie Blinn is a Professor and Extension specialist with a focus on forest management. Specific research areas include: assessing the impacts of applying forest management guidelines on timber harvesting productivity, evaluating the effectiveness of forest management guidelines to mitigate impacts within forested riparian areas, evaluating stream and wetland crossings options to assess their ability to support equipment without impacting the environment, and the influence of timber sale policies on bidding behavior. photo of Emily Dombeck Emily Dombeck is the Program Coordinator for the Extension Forestry team. In this role, she focuses on communications and coordination of outreach efforts for all Extension Forestry areas, including MyMinnesotaWoods, educational workshops, and conferences. She is interested in urban and community forestry, sustainability, using technology for training and education, and serving underrepresented communities. Angela Gupta Angela Gupta is an Extension educator with a focus on forest invasive species and private forest land management. Angela is a leader in the MN Women's Woodland Network and the Forest Pest First Detector program, and she's a member of the Woodland Advisor team. Gary Johnson Gary Johnson is an Extension Professor with a focus on urban and community forestry. Nathan Meyer Nathan Meyer is a Program Leader for the Extension Center for Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences. Nathan is very engaged with strategic leadership and programming to support best education practices, citizen science and strategies to support families in nature. He is the leader for the Extension Climate Initiative. Michael Reichenbach Michael Reichenbach is an Extension educator interested in the intersection between forest landscape planning and family forest management; forest health; and maintaining working family forest lands. Mike is pursuing an Education Doctorate in Teaching and Learning at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and is studying the efficacy of collaborative learning as a tool to catalyze landscape scale change. photo of Matt Russell Matt Russell is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist that focuses on forest ecosystem health. His Extension programming is oriented to forest landowners and natural resource professionals and emphasizes forest management strategies to maintain healthy and productive forests. photo of Eli Sagor Eli Sagor is an Associate Extension Professor and Director of the University of Minnesota’s Sustainable Forests Education Cooperative, based at the Cloquet Forestry Center.  In that role, he organizes and delivers continuing education programs related to forest ecology and management for professional natural resource managers. Gary Wyatt Gary Wyatt is an Extension educator with a focus on agroforestry and bio-energy. Gary works with federal and state agency partners in promoting conservation and agroforestry practices in rural landscapes. Other topics of expertise include invasive species, tree selection, living snow fences, nontimber forest products, riparian buffers, windbreaks and ecosystem services. Diomy Zamora Diomy Zamora, Ph.D. is an Extension educator whose focus in on agroforestry and biomass enegy. Research and extension interests include using agroforestry systems and practices such as alley cropping and riparian buffers to improve water quality, increase carbon sequestration, and to produce feedstock for energy. He is also interested in applying the concept of silvopasture agroforestry system in enhancing wood and grazing for environmental and economic productivity. Other specific interest includes the understanding of below and above ground interactions of tree and crops in agroforestry systems to develop a suitable farming system for landowners.
