Research interests
My research experience has been in the areas of tree
physiology, forest soils, ectomycorrhizae, and forest
ecology. Studies include greenhouse, growth chamber
and field experiments in water relations, relationship
between soil aluminum and forest decline, genetics of
ectomycorrhizae (associated with conifers) in a forest
tree seedling nursery, effects of fertilizer rates on
mycorrhizal colonization of black spruce, persistence
of inoculated mycorrhizae on outplanted black spruce,
biological control of Fusarium diseases of conifers,
and long term biodiversity studies.
