Department Head Search
Last fall, Forest Resources formed a search committee to begin the process of filling the departmental head position. At the University of Minnesota, a head from an external unit serves as the search committee chair. As chair, I facilitate the search process, but the decisions are largely driven by Forest Resources’ committee members. For two months, committee members worked to recruit quality candidates. I am happy to report that we received many strong applications, and the committee decided to conduct video interviews in mid-April with all applicants before narrowing the pool down to three candidates. Once the committee has identified the top three candidates, on-campus interviews will be scheduled, likely in late May and early June. We appreciate your patience during this important process and look forward to reporting exciting news about the leadership in Forest Resources.
