Areas of Interest
I focus my research interests on deepening our understanding of basic ecophysiology, ecology and mechanisms that govern plant life and how that translates to professional applications, specifically in silvics. Currently, our basic understanding of the processes that govern tree life has become even more important as humans continue to change the environment on multiple spatial and temporal scales. I’m also interested in understanding how plants interact specifically in forest ecosystems, how they respond to the dynamically changing environment, and what the implications of these responses might be on forest ecosystems and their function. In particular, I focus on plants acclimation and adaptation of their traits and how that impacts overall biodiversity, forest ecosystem dynamic and function, and how that might affect our current forest management. In addition, I’m interested in developing new scientific methods, techniques and application of new technological advances into research.
