Areas of Expertise
Silviculture and applied forest ecology
Areas of Interest
The overall goal of my research is to understand the ecological processes governing the dynamics of forest communities across the landscape. I strive to untangle the driving factors of change in natural systems (i.e., endogenous, exogenous or anthropogenic) and to create linkages for the design and implementation of sustainable management. My research here is a collaborative project between the USFS and UMN, utilizing current and historical USFS installation data to investigate changes in forest structure and dynamics of northern forests of the Lake states.
